Nice pick-up Wolfman 556!

My next handgun purchase will either be another CZ-75B Stainless or another SP-01 - great stuff.

You're going to love it for sure. IMO it's the best handgun out there!

I like my CZ too. It is a CZ 75 P-01. congratulations on yours!

Congrats..

Congratulations on your new CZ addition!!... The 75B Stainless was my first CZ and the family's been growng since. For me, that 75B is just a smooth, flawless shoot... period! Love to look at it, love to shoot it, and love to clean it.
Great gun, but here's the progression... a SP-01 (Tactical w/Decocker) will be next, followed by 'its baby brother' the P-01, then back to the 75B for its D version, then maybe a 75D PCR and a 97BD..... you see what I mean.
ENJOY... many years of good shooting!
GZOh

Were the CZ frames ever forged, I have read they are cast.

I wish they could combine the B and BD and allow for both like the Taurus PT92 does.

The frames and slides have always been cast, AFAIK; the barrel is forged, but that's about it.

Congrats! CZ ROCK! Got 4 myself, 2 CZ75 with trigger jobs and Crimson Trace Lasers, SP-01 with trigger job, and just got my CZ97BD (AWESOME)! They are addictive. You have a fine gun there!

Cz-97??

How reliable is the .45 version - thats the one I'm looking at. Could it be considered as rock-solid reliable as say a Glock 30?

It looks kinda big or is it no worse to conceal than a 1911? I have no difficulty concealing my 1911 in shorts/t-shirt wear IWB so if the CZ is similiar, its going to get a harder look. I really want a completely reliable .45

The 10+1 capacity with 2 backup mags would likely make for a pretty confidence inspiring CCW package

My understanding is that the CZ 75 P-01 has a forged aircraft aluminum frame, with a hammer forged steel barrel.

I'm on my third CZ.
I had one 75 BD and one 75 B before. Both were good, reliable guns but they didn't fit my hand quite right.
I recently bought a P-01 and it fits my hand much better.

Did they reshape the grip or just change the shape of the trigger to improve the ergonomics?
And if it's just the trigger, will a trigger from a P-01 fit a full sized 75?
If it will, that could be an option...

On the CZ-97 - a friend had a CZ-97 for awhile.
It was a good shooter and reliable, but it's a BIG .45 ACP. IIRC, it was a fair amount bigger than a 1911, but probably around the same size as a Glock .45.
Also, you might want to see what holsters are available before you buy one.

Congrats man, they're second to none! After my PCR was stolen, I needed a carry weapon fast, so I settled on an XD9 since no dealers here stock CZ. A few days ago I ordered myself a CZ75 compact in nickel and have been pacing restlessly since. :D

YES. Probably "and then some".

Nope, sorry - it's harder to conceal. It's a 2-stack, and it's big.

Absolutely. Just gotta figure out how to hide it. Would make a great home defense handgun.

BTW, I do like the "satin nickel" CZ (I think it's called). Never had one, but always thought they looked great (and the duo-tone as well). Mine are the blue/black "duracoat" ones. They resist rust well *except* around the rear sight and other accessories mounted to the slide and frame.
