In the aftermath of the December 2012 Conn. school shooting, Obama et al appear newly energized re a push for "gun control", so far more or less a will o' the wisp, not well defined, we await Obama's taskforce recommendations. By the way, no small number of individuals would say that Obama is simply showing his true colors. as for Biden, his history speaks for itself.
In any event, while Gun Control, which essentially punishes the law abiding seem all the rage, punishment of those whose admitted actions are criminal, the 14 large U.S. banks who last week "setteled with regulators" over illegalities in their home mortgage operations, just the latest to have so done, none of the responsible parities, the highest levels of management at these banks is likely to ever be prosecuted. Then there is UBS, who pled guilty to a single felony count, how come only a single count, of cooking the books at LIBOR (London Interbank Rates). Some U.S. based banks are involved in this stunt too. Of course, nobody in a really responsible position at any of these institutions will ever face prosecution for the criminal acts they admitted.
The foregoing aside law abiding gun owners numbering in the millions are being persecuted, as are inanimate objects, guns. While it might be difficult to picture the persecution of inanimate objects, use your imagination just a little. As I said at the outset, I find myself as mite curious as to the above mentioned, and the differences in administration energies, not to mention the energies of media, who anoint tons of newsprint with gallons of ink beating the drum for the fairytale that is Gun Control, let's not forget "broadcast journalists" who pollute the public airways with the anti gun rights claptrap they peddle, while they are oh so silent over the non-prosecution of admitted criminals, the doyens of The Financial Sector, a group that has contributed mightily to the yet to be fully deteremined damage done to this nation by their antics.
I guess that it might be that I'm simply thick headed or evil minded, but as noted at the outset, the aforementioned circumstances leave me curious.
