I found my grail gun the other day, which is interesting because I didn't know I really had one. I had wanted one of these, but I had never actually seen one, so I sort of gave up even thinking about them.
Then the other day I saw what I thought was another HB Model 10 in the case at my favorite gun shop. I was talking to the clerk, and not really paying much attention to it, but I thought to myself..."That's a mighty BIG Model 10."
Then I glanced at the tag on the gun and saw it looked like an "85." That can't be right. Eighty-Five is a Taurus number and that's a Smith & Wesson for sure. That's when I realized that I was reading the tag upside down. It wasn't 85. It was 58! A model 58, 41 Magnum.
To make a long story short, I was unable to stay cool. They reeled me in like bluegill on a deep sea rig.
I put it on layaway/hold for a day or so, rounded up the cash and got it out of hock, took it home cleaned it up, polished it with Flitz, and put some wax on it. I got some Ahrends retro target grips, dies, and whatnot on the way.
