Old race guns never die........ I think that pistol predates Bill Wilson's operation by a few years. It is VERY cool.
 
The hole is used to stake the front sight on ---if you don't have a front sight staking tool.
 
I have three sets of recoil springs for my 1911A1 clone: one for 180gr target, one for 230gr standard, and one for 10mm/45+P.
I eventually replaced the hammer spring with one from Wolfsprings.

The OP pistol sounds like it was set up for target loads.
 
And the OP is....in Norway! Has this been taken into consideration by most of the people here?

They are fortunate that they can Still Own semi-auto handguns (maybe just as "collectors"), and recently, my impression is that Norwegians lost access to certain types of semi-auto rifles (?).
