I visited a lgs close to raleigh today and came out with 5 pounds of powder! BE, POWER PISTOL, and IMR 4227. WOW! First time I've seen any of those on the shelf in a looooong time. Also primers galore! Anyway about 10 different powders were avaiable!
Now i can load all winter. Why I'm happy as a new born Blue Tic puppy dragging on the tit! Ye har!

Which LGS? I live in Raleigh.

What kind of prices? They have a history of being a little pricey. I heard they have Bullseye for $39.95 a pound.

Hey, I would pay $30 for Bullseye at a LGS or gun show.

I think the availability and prices are getting better. I have enough powder to keep me busy for a while, so I am holding off on buying any more. I'm certainly not going to pay $40 a pound.

I wouldn't pay $30 for a lb of bullseye. I've have more than I need. As soon as it becomes readily available again I'm going to stock up.

Powder

I scored 4 lbs. of Varget at a little country gun shop couple weeks ago at 28 bucks a lb.It hasen't been availabe at local Scheels,Gander or Cabelas for over a year . hdbiker :)

That is my plan right now. I might pick up one pound of Bullseye now just to play with (work up some test loads) but won't buy any more until prices come down more.

Perry's was 39.95 for BE, 29.95 for both Power Pistol and IMR 4227. I'm getting ready to start working up some .357 and 44 mag loads with the 4227 since I cant find 2400.
Have fun reloading, Catpop

I stopped into sheels over the weekend to see if they had any pistol powder. I bought 2lbs of power pistol and one lb of BE I left some for the next guy I wanted to buy more but didn't. 17.00 for pp and 18.75 for BE first time I have seen any pistol powder there for over a year

Yeah around here pistol/shotgun propellant is starting to show up in one LB containers with regularity. It does not tend to stay long but there is usually something I could use if I did need to buy some today and checked at a couple random LGS. Now if the prices would just go back to sane levels as well.:)

Yea, I used to pay .20 a gallon for gas, 5 cent for a coke, 10 cent for popcorn etc etc. But then I'm not 10 years old any more. I am blessed however have powder and enjoy reloading as much or more than most! Happy reloading to all, catpop

^I can never resist doing that no matter how hard I try:)
Catpop is cool as a cucumber though, he never pays any attention to my lack of maturity- thankfully he's a happy go lucky dude-

Congrats! :D

Ain't it sad that we congratulate someone just for finding gun powder?

Well, it takes determination, sticktoitiveness and nerves of steel to find powder these days as well as the art of staying cool when you actually spy some on the shelf. You have to sneak up on it, or someone else will grab it away.

Slobbering all over a lb of pistol powder might cause undue damage!
