Some of you have probably gotten tired of hearing me ramble on about my late-lamented old nickel 4" 29, which I traded off in a fit of poor judgement several years ago. .44's have come & gone, but this one was the flagship of the fleet around here for years. I carried this old gun on duty and had several successful deer seasons with it; it rode with me & the Missus across the Rockies, and through blizzards on prisoner extraditions.

I seen it on a table at a gun show several years ago but let it slip away again, and had pretty well given her up for lost. WELL, I just happened to run across it again the other day... and while my wallet's a little lighter, it sure is good to have her back home again.

Get a load of those circa '73 Mustang rubber grips! They'll be replaced ASAP with something more in keeping with classic old iron, and the Mustangs will bereserved for heavy loads- of which there will be few in this gun. I shopped around some before I found this one again, and discovered that nice old 29-2's don't "grow on trees" anymore.

Decidedly "un-tactical", but still an effective sidearm by any yardstick. I am set to qualify with it next month- and then back to work she goes.

Tamara...

according to the book there behind it, late 1980. It may just be one of the few that escaped before the horrible QC problems of that era, becuase it has sure been a good, straight old shooter.

Thank you all, by the way.
