Which may not be a big deal to the rest of you. I have had a terrible time with 1911 style pistols up till now. I bought two from and had sooo many problems involving reliability.

I purchased a Kimber TLE-RL last week and took it to the range today. It was cold, wet and windy but that sweet new gun of mine functioned flawlessly from the box. It functions with Winchester White box and Blazers. It functioned with the factory mags and the Wilson mag I bought.

I am soooooo happy!

Next time I will try JHP's.

The only problem is now I am thinking about a lighter carry 1911 for off Duty carry. Maybe a Kimber CDP???

So many guns so little money.

1911's are great guns. Fairly simple in design, robust, usually reliable, fit most hands nicely, John Moses Browning was really onto something with his design!

The thing is - there are a lot of shoddily made 1911s that give the design a bad name.

When you find an accurate, reliable 1911, its a thing if beauty.

I agree, and alot of them were Colts built in the 80s and 90s! :banghead:

Kimber and Springfield deserve alot of credit for rebuilding the reputation of the 1911 style pistol, IMNSHO.

Colt, finally, seems to be on a turn-around in terms of building solid, works-right, pistols, but I'd still like to see them reintroduce their XS series with better parts (sights and grip safety) that would compete, feature for feature with Kimber and Springfield.
