I bought a CZ-52 surplus within the last year or so, and while the gun has been 100% reliable, it was nowhere near as accurate as this chambering (7.62 x 25) was reputed to be. I thought about replacing the barrel, and found new-ish or used ones on ebay.
Then I found a place online called SARCO that is selling barrels advertised as new for 59 bucks. Guessing they're unused surplus, but I don't know. There's no serial # or markings on it. I ordered one, and while the exterior finish of the barrel was no better than my existing barrel, the bore was as perfect and unused as could be.
I ALSO ordered some of those hardened rollers (for the locking breach) that CZ -52 owners rave about. The original rollers aren't hardened steel and said to wear out. I ordered the replacements from EBAY, but sorry, I can't remember who the seller was. If you search ebay, you'll find them easily.
Anyway, the result has been very positive. Groups have shrunk a lot. Still not a tack driver, and it starts to shoot low after the barrel warms up, but it's a usable gun now. So if you're having inexplicably bad accuracy with your CZ-52, you may consider the upgrades I made. Not too expensive. Free shipping on the rollers.
Unfortunately, I can't say which contributed more to the improved accuracy - barrel or rollers. I'm guessing barrel. I'm thinking I'll try some different ammo, too , and see if that helps. I believe S&B is what I used the other day. I just bought some Winchester and ordered some Partizan. Best wishes.
