Mountain stalker/Bobcat 50 cal side lock that I have never shot. Fifteen years ago, my grandson shot it in some 4H games and did quite well, but all loading was done by an adult coach. Now, I think maybe I'd like to try it. I have all the accouterments and a box of Hornady .049" round balls in 50 cal.
Can someone, who has one of these rifles, help me with the needed patch thickness. I really don't want to stick a ball first time out. Pillow Ticking, comm'l pre lubed or....?
