Oddly enough, a downwardly-plunging firey handbask
The 10mm Colt sidearm might not be an ideal long-distance weapon, and it's certainly no sniper's rifle, but it has the advantages of low weight and quicker target acquisition. You can reliably engage aggressors at ranges of 30 meters and more. Use a two-handed grip and brace the barrel against a tree, or use your dive tanks and rebreather as an improvised bench rest. Don't worry about "stopping power": One of those 10mm slugs opens up to about 70 caliber when it hits, leaving an exit wound you could toss a cat through, and bringing so much energy to a target that a hit in the extremities is often enough to drop Ivan in his tracks.
From http://www.theonion.com/onion3205/navyseal.html Thanks to Mute for the link.

I have always wanted to toss a cat through the exit wound of my freshly slain enemy... :scrutiny:

I love it! :D

Funner when you realize what that quote is supposedly the ANSWER to:

Dear Navy SEAL,

After several catastrophically bad relationships, I have finally found the right man. But old habits die hard. After all those cheating jerks, it requires great will for me to trust this absolute prince. I find myself reading his mail, listening to his answering-machine messages, even—God help me—following him around! How do I handle this situation? I don't want to ruin the best thing I have ever had.

This?

Oh my goodness!!!

Frohickey, is that for real? Is that really a cat? Oh my, I am afraid! What happened to that cute fuzzy little kitten?

Really need that little sign that says "This house protected by attack cats."

I'm thinking the picture is the result of some digital Tom Foolery.

WOW

Bullseye shooters with 1911 in 45 acp shoot at 50 yards. I have shot semiauto pistols at 100 yards its no big deal. In fact coffee cans are wonderfull targets at 100 yards for plinking with service auto's.

or in a Glock or any auto pistol?

Its more than firing standard pressure 230 grain 45 ball. And about the same as +p 45 auto ammo.

Ummm, y'all realize of course that "The Onion" is a parody site.
And a good one at that.

Yeah, dude, they know. :D

One of the all-time great parts of The Onion, before they turned it into a big corporate deal and moved it to New York City, was "Ask a Navy Seal." One installment began more or less like this:

"Dear Navy Seal:
My son, 'Brian,' seems to have lost his way. He's staying out all night, has strange friends, and although I can't prove anything, I thought I smelled pot in his room this morning. He's only 16! What can I do to turn this around while making it clear that I love him and want only the best for him?
Signed,
Worried Mom in Seattle"

Dear Worried Mom:
Killing silently with the Ka-Bar knife is tricky, but it can be done. . . . .

Killing silently with the Ka-Bar knife is tricky, but it can be done

Could be applied to a great number of teenagers!

I read a post on another board that indicated stupidity should not be made a capital crime, but if we just removed all the warning labels on products the problem of stupid people would eventually correct itself.

Uh, Pat... it's a JOKE.

1. The original site is a joke. Though I am getting more laughs from the serious discussion stemming out of this than anything else. ;)

2. The cat is photoshopped.

3. In the link, do you notice his trigger finger? Huuh. :)

Here is the defnitive Snopes.com reference on the infamous cat photo...

ALthough, the thread in L&P about the policeman shooting a tabby at 60 yards on the report of a "mountain lion" in the area, might have gotten a bit more sympathy had it been that cat... LOL.
