First I can talk people that don't know/understand guns into good deals. I went to the local pawn store looking for a deal. Went to the gun section. Looked over the selection, picked over the ones I wanted and then struck. At first I got the lady to $430 out the door on a scoped 770 in .308 that looked like it had been fired once. Noticed a scoped marlin 30-30 that was in good shape. Throw out how about $700 out the door for this and that lever. She looks at me like I've told her that her baby looks like a chimp and then she says ok but you have to pay the background check fee. I say deal.
$710 (background is $10 in TN) and I have two guns that look like they've ridden in a safe or bought and never used. On the gun rack they have a sign for cheap gun sleeves $20 a piece. I asked the woman if they had any that would fit the scoped guns. She goes in the back and grabs a cheap one that would barely fit. For the other she finds a rather nice leather and canvas style one that fits like a glove. It's now after closing time and she says she can't ring them up so they're free.
Second lesson
Watch people around you. There was a guy that was trying to pawn a 9mm handgun and ammo. They take the gun but can't take the ammo. He's down on his luck and asks if he can get another $5 for the gun so he can have enough for a full car payment. I catch him outside and give him $20 for a box of gold dot 9mm hollow point and 4 boxes of remmington ammo.
Third lesson
Wait till after everyone goes to bed before bring two new playtoys home.
