Last night, I placed a small order. Then, after hitting the submit button, I forgot I didn't order the main thing that I needed. So, I immediately placed a 2nd order for that item. I was going to email them asking if the orders could be combined, but got sidetracked and it never got done.

I received an email this morning stating that the orders were combined to save shipping, without even asking!

That's customer service!

(Just thought I'd share :) )

Not surprised at all.
That's the way those Iowa farm girls were raised!

The only reason they wouldn't have done so is if they hadn't noticed it being you twice.

Me either. They have always gone out of their way to help me. I once ordered a 40# can of bluing salts. When it reached my town, the trucking company saw that my street address had been omitted. When the trucking company notified Brownell's that they were returning the shipment,Brownell's notified me and shipped out another can of salts so that I would not have to wait for it to get back to them and be reshipped. Brownell's ate the extra shipping charge. Class act.

Brownells offers technical support for many of their cataloged items . . . Midway does not. However, they both have given me consistently good service, but I tend to order more from Brownells probably 5-1 over Midway.

Midway did burn me on a mag a about a year and a half ago, I sent an e-mail about it and never got a response.

Brownell's is great! They give me a discount because I sell "Gun Accessories".

I do not like Midway - they refuse to give me a wholesaler's discount because I do not have the word "Gun" in my business name - the funny thing is, they don't have the word "Gun" in their business name either.

i use both midway & brownells but i tend to buy more from midway.
on reamers and a lot of gunsmithing tools brownells doesn't offer any discount and midway does so on those parts i get them from midway.
last week i ordered a bunch of parts from brownells including one of brownells brand of pre-fit mauser magnum extractors, it is cast junk and the only thing it was ever pre-fit to was the plastic bag it came it. next time i'll use midways brand for that part or convert a standard extractor like i should have done in the first place.
