RRA Varmint AR15 with a 20" bull barrel in a 1:8 twist.

Leupold VX-III 8.5-25x50mm mounted with a LaRue SPR.

I will be adding a MagPul CTR-N stock in the next week or so.

This thing is solid. Very well made and tight as a drum.

I have Black Hills ammo in 55gr FMJ, 60gr V-max, 69gr SMK and 77gr SMK in route. I'll see what it will and will not shoot.

How do you get a good cheek weld with a collapsible stock and a high scope?

I plan on adding a tight fitting Magul CTR-N stock once they are released in the next week or so. It has a wider cheekweld. The LaRue SPR mount puts the scope right at 1.5" above the rail. I will hump this out into the field (fairly short distances) and prefer not to have an A2 stock on it. The collapsable stock will also allow my wife or son to get proper eye relief without having to move the scope. They can just adjust the LOP with the stock.

I usually have a Cooper with me plus an AR plus a handgun or two. I am out there 3 weekends out of 4. I have a sleep study planned next Friday night and will be beat in the morning. Not sure if I'll make it or not. Maybe we can hook up sometime.

Nothin' wrong with a good AR as a varmit gun. My buddy uses one with good effect. And he's faster on the rare follow-up shot than I am with my single shot.

I can not wait to get out p-doging this year. I had a CZ 527 Varmint in a Kevlar stock .223 and a Mauser 98 custom in .22-250 last year along with a CZ 452 HB American in .17 HMR. Needless to say, I had fun but the 98 went out of hs after many years (put togeather in the 60's). Since winter started I picked up a CZ 550 Varmint in .22-250 and a Bushmaster Ultra Varmint in .223 to take with me this year too. I have to admit, the guys that were using the AR's had an advantage by a bit but I was not missing that often either. I just needed a little "justification"

BTW, a Cooper is on the short list and yours are just beautiful!
