I may actually buy a Glock

Thanks for all the input everyone but I have decided to not get the G43. I have my G2c and am quite happy with it, if I ever "upgrade" it will be with a G3c or maybe even a GX4 though I don't like the fact the GX4 has no manual safety. It's a personal preference and is my main issue with the G43. This is not to say the G43 isn't a very good firearm it's just not what I really want.

That affliction is indeed real. That said, when it comes to a gun I can pick up at any LGS on any corner. Not so much..

I agree only I ended up with (2) Glock 30s (different times and never at once) a Glock 22 (and spent extra on all the bells and whistles) and finally a Glock 21 which is still own and will be keeping just to throw a 20 top end on for dual caliber capability. All do to iwannagunitis. However, I do have a Glock that has been on my I want, even if it's dish washer safe, list and that s Glock 36. I've passed a a few because t the time I was carrying a Kimber ultra carry and it gave me one more round and its a 1911.

I purchased 3 S-15s and metal mag catch a few months ago but haven't installed in ether my 43x or 48 yet. Have yours been 100% reliable?
I’ve been using the S15 mags since they came out and they have been flawless. I still use the Glock OEM mags at the range, but use and carry S15’s without hesitation.

The 43x/48 grip frame changed my mind about Glocks.

Same with me! Had an early production G17 for many years but rarely used it. I didn't really care all that much for the grip size and configuration and the trigger on it was... let's just say not very good! Tried the G19 and the G26 and didn't care for them either.

Then I was at the LGS and I was looking for a new sub-compact, double-stack 9mm. I sampled the current offerings from Springfield Armory, S&W, SIG, and Glock. Went with the SIG P365X as it had the best ergonomics, sights, and trigger. It felt very comfortable in my hand. But surprisingly enough I was also very impressed with the size and overall configuration of the Glock G43X and the G48. I came back a few weeks later and picked up a G48 and then later a G43X! Liked the shorter slide of the G43X for concealability and the G48 for it's balance and handling.

Just get your butt back to the Blackpowder section! We should have never let you leave.

GLOCK?!?!?!

all you need is a Colt .45 Automatic!

I have a gen2 19 given to me, a F.O.P. edition for 1989. It works every time I pull the trigger and is very accurate. I did the polishing of the trigger last yr and the pull got better. Also installed the 3.5 connector and spring. I prefer my Shield plus for daily carry but do carry the 19 here and there but usually go back to the SW.

PSA is expected to release a sub compact Glock clone in the coming months. That is an option if you want to stay in the non-Glock owner club.

As I have stated numerous times here (and elsewhere) that Glock ergonomics and my hands were just not compatible. To me it was always like I was holding onto a 2x4 with a barrel attached to it. Well today I was at my LGS, I had purchased a used RIA 1911 A1 a while back and when they did inventory they found the original case with the factory mag in it. I picked it up today and of course was checking out some of their current offerings. Decided to try again to see how a Glock felt so Dave handed me a G19, sure enough it felt terrible in my hand but then he handed me a G43......... Being a single stack the ergos were not too bad at all, I was actually kind of surprised, I wasn't expecting that.
So my question to myself is do I really need another pistol after forking out almost $2k last month for 3 milsurps which I need to pay off. I can get the G43 for under $400 but that would add to my credit balance which I'm not sure I want to do.

I also saw a very nice Arisaka rifle at my local pawn shop for $599. Not sure what type it is, it had springs holding the front and rear bands on but that's all I really remember, I didn't look all that closely.

I agree that the ergonomics of the G43 and G48 are enough different that they may make folks that were not comfortable with Glock grips rethink that.

I have several Glocks … not as many now as in the past … two19’s,23, 27, 30S, 20 .. at times I have owned up to 12 at at time … I recently put a Dagger together.. really hadn’t had a chance to take it to ..
I like the feel of the 43X

I just shot a stock Gen 4 G17 in a IPSC style match as production. 52 As and 6 Cs. I guess those 6 were do the unshootable grip angle.

Glock, AR15, remington 700. Ubiquitous and well performing. Why fight it? I love my gen5s.
