There she is, by my side... my new 870 Wingmaster. Suddenly my favorite long arm to take out and admire. Yeah, the M1A wins for sheer firepower and accuracy, but there is something about blued steel and wood....

Falling asleep last night, I found myself mentally loading rounds and saying (in my imagination) "pull" and then blasting away, over and over. I had no idea that trap would be this addictive. My 870 has about 300 rounds through her, and I get the feeling there will be a few thousand more heading down her blued tube each year, for a long long time (God willing and luck holding).

Little did I know I would get hooked by performing "Mandatory Range Duty" at my local gun club... I even remember grumbling to myself about being put on Trap duty versus Pistol/Rifle... now I'm thankful! Trap duty is so much easier than Rifle/Pistol anyhow... more relaxing, fun to watch, fun old timers with jokes and stories polished from years of tellin....

:D
You do not have an addictive personality. Of course "consider the source" and well heck, I shot skeet. "Supposedly" skeet and trap fellers just disagree. Horsefeathers !

I think this is great, going through the steps and the sport in your mind is better than counting sheep. "Mind Picture" is one of those fancy smancy dealies one is to use to manage stress and pain ... That Trap "mind pic" is good say for after watching the airheads give the news.

Ok I know your a Mod and all...but see you are supposed to show the blue, and wood shotgun pic with an original post like yours. You are forgiven, it's just a 'member' dealie you mods, staff, admins probably are not aware of. :p

Your wish is my command!

As usual with my pic posts, you can click any picture for a VERY hi-res image. 26" was recommended to me as a good "H&H" (house and hunting) barrel length, and I'm happy with it so far.

:D
Sven, that is a beautiful shotgun, I never tire of seeing craftmanship like that. You have every right to be proud of that gun, and want to shoot it. Sounds to me you have some natural ability, and good skills established.

You really do take great pics, his res really a nice touch. Thank you Sir, for posting those again.

I do appreciate what you, the other mods, staff and admin do around here...mumble grumble, boy you guys really are hard to train sometimes tho'. :D

Hey, I make mistakes but I'm "trainable" (according to my ladyfriend, anyhow - I THINK that's a compliment). The gun is new production (straight from Davidsons after waiting for 6 months for one to come in stock) and from what I can tell, Remington is keeping up the QC at least on these higher-end models. No regrets and I can recommend a new Wingmaster to anyone... unless they can find an older one that needs adopting.

(Picture large old guy looking at Monitor with proud and avuncular smile)...

Gets in your blood, doesn't it? Shotgunning is as much fun as we can have fully dressed.

Good pics, very nice WM. I like the wood.

And thanks for posting,Sven, you've helped make my morning....
