There she is, by my side... my new 870 Wingmaster. Suddenly my favorite long arm to take out and admire. Yeah, the M1A wins for sheer firepower and accuracy, but there is something about blued steel and wood....
Falling asleep last night, I found myself mentally loading rounds and saying (in my imagination) "pull" and then blasting away, over and over. I had no idea that trap would be this addictive. My 870 has about 300 rounds through her, and I get the feeling there will be a few thousand more heading down her blued tube each year, for a long long time (God willing and luck holding).
Little did I know I would get hooked by performing "Mandatory Range Duty" at my local gun club... I even remember grumbling to myself about being put on Trap duty versus Pistol/Rifle... now I'm thankful! Trap duty is so much easier than Rifle/Pistol anyhow... more relaxing, fun to watch, fun old timers with jokes and stories polished from years of tellin....
