I need a new barrel for my Sistema

What is the best 1911 barrel for just general shooting. I have a Sistema 1911 frame with a no name slide and I want to get a good barrel to install in it for general shootin' and plinkin'.

Brian, I ordered a 5" Colt barrel for my satin-chromed Sistema from Brownell's. With a discount for having a FFL 03 license, a little over a $100. IIRC, I believe the link & pin was not included...

Ed Brown and Wilson drop in barrels are pretty good if you don't want to do a lot of hand fitting to get an accurate shooting barrel.

I replaced my Sistema's original barrel with one from King's Gunworks (Glendale, CA). So far so good.

I bought my Airforce Sistema at a gun show. It was a little rough with a shot out barrel. Another vendor had new GI barrels for $40 and I bought one and took it and the gun to a third vendor who took the link and pin from the old barrel and installed them on the new one for $2. Works fine.

The mag that came with the gun also was bad, so I bought some surplus mags and they work great.

AFAIK, any part that works on the original Colt will work on the Sistema.
