I need something I never thought I'd ask for

No, not that.
I need aluminum GI AR-15/M-16 30 round magazines, hopefully cheap. I'd hit a gun show, but this town is so small it doesn't even have a grocery store, and gas is too expensive to drive 70 miles to a gun show just to try to find 6 AR mags.
Must be metal, no plastic molded ones so no MagPul, Thermold, etc. Any ideas? Really would like genuine GI and not ProMag. Figured it can't hurt to ask.

Go to CDNN.com, an get the Master Molder mags for the AR they work great and are only 8.95 each plus shipping.

Thanks for the tip, but I have been told that plastic molded magazines may not work, need GI metal, steel or aluminum.

That's only true for people with more money than sense. P-Mags are plastic and the army loves them. These are high quality mags that work better than my alum or steel.

Jim, I am told this is true for this particular rifle - it is NOT an AR-15, just for clarification.

Aimsurplus.com has D&H mags $10 each or $9 ea for 10. these are the same mags known as Labelle from the '90's that were "the best." In my opinion they still are.

Edited to add i know they are sold out but they restock frequently.

agree with no4 on the D&H / labelle mags. i usually bought them from bravocompany though.

brownells are prob gtg as well though i haven't tried them personally.

I'll post pics and such when it comes in, maybe early next week. I went with the Brownells for 9.99, as they are proud to say they made them, might be easy to exchange/replace if there are any problems.
