Hatsans AT 44 s10 QE
My choice for first time varmint control PCP
Hatsan AT 44-10 S 22 cal.
I got two of these one is scoped
one open sights for bad lighting.
factory sale $339 and $349 at field supply
$90 altaros reg.
QE kit $100
bug buster scope
I’ll compare this to the
Umarex Gauntlet 22, although I’ve never shot or seen one except in video.
The Hatsan is loud, I bought QE kits for mine.
It’s not regulated, I got Altaros regulators for mine.
But it’s not Chinese . Being it’s Turkish, I’d appreciate some younger GI’s wouldn’t want to be involved. I wouldn’t buy anything from Siagon either.
But what a great starter gun, and yes I’ve bought a couple duds, Maraurder (accuracy), Brocock (magazine/cocking junk).
I’m in the city and shoot rodents at 10 yards or so.
When I first shot it the accuracy was whacko, but filled 1/2 way it would settle down, so I installed the reg. I got 49 useable shots. (On a budget, a hand pump would do, thats 49 raccoons in the freezer before it fell off regulator.) Thats 1/2 inch squares at 10 yards = distance between raccoon/opossum ears or shoulder shot on a rat.
It’s got metal magazines and solid locking in position, not plastic. The cocking is bold, not light like a HW100.
The mags are fussy to load, the skirts have to be flush with the back but no worse than those plastic mags- (maraurder) to load.
And as easy to load into the gun as my HW100- similar style actually.
The two stage trigger is almost on par with my HW100.
If Hatsan had those triggers on their springers they’d be great. Yes I’ve got three of their springers-OK for killing cans, but that trigger is do do.
I wanted the plastic stock to save weight and after all it’s a tool made for a specific job, and I never shoot off hand. Who’d use a chrome hammer w/ flames to roof a house?
It’s no uglier than the Umarex.
I did shoot a target before and after regulator, used JBS exact jumbo heavy .
had 19 more shots on another target-49 total, I get 20 on my HW100 sport (small air tube).
I used H&N Baracuda extreme 18.57 gr for two raccoons and an opossum so far, open sight in low light. Couldn’t see the cross hairs in the dark.
sorry I can't get flicker to upload photoes
