I think I scored a real gem of a Mauser

You know what I find fascinating about these S. Americans?

The fact that these contract rifles have a superior craftmanship/finish than their own. For example my 1909 Argen. is a DWM (Berlin) from 1910 #9XX for that model production and it's finish is similar to this Venezuelan model. Compare it to a K-98 from that time and the dfferences are huge.

I got it off gunbroker.I have a old Suplus firearms magazine with a article on "other" mausers that mentions this 24/30 and it says they were imported by Springfield sporters years ago. These rilfles were made for the 1954 world shooting championships held in Caracas.400 rifles were made. This is the only one I personally have ever seen anywhere.

True 'dat madmax.Argentines,Brazilians,Chileans,Venezuelans, all works of art.I am still on the hunt for a superb 1891 Argentine with a real price range not wishful price range.

Thats interesting. Besides Springfield Sporters bringing them in, I've heard that Century also brought them in. Have you also heard this?
