I think ive been ripped off for the first time on the internet. <Bad Idea Removed> I bought a marlin cowboy to have customize and a guy on the castbullet forum (not here)RvPilot wanted an original stock as he had put a pad on his and wanted to trade. I sent him my stock over a month ago and after a week he emailed me and said that he didnt like it. The deal we made was that he was going to send whichever stock he didnt like to Clements as hes building my gun. Now he doesnt answer emails or pms. Hes been logged on to the cast bullet site at least twice in the last couple days. He logs on quickly and leaves. Others have tried to pm him too and he wont respond. Hes even got his own website http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endid=28814066 and ive left messages there too and no replys. I guess theres actually people out there that would risk there name for a 150 dollar stock!!!!

Best of luck to you. <Low Road Redacted> BTW, you may in the future not risk such a high dollar trade from someone on a forum who has no transaction feedback as a seller. My two cents.

That same guy tried to get me to send my gun to his ffl and he would send money order at same time I shipped gun. Didn't do it and wouldn't have, but now I know probably never would have seen my money. He was on arfc then.

If I may make a sudgestion.. If you wanted to be a thorn in his side.. If you scroll to the bottom left of his my space page, it has the name of the company he works for.. Look it up in yeller pages.com, call it up, find out who his supervisor is and talk to them.. They may not care nothing about it, but it may cause some doubt in their mind and inconveinece the thief somewhat. Once someone like your boss knows your a thief, it's hard to shake something like that.

Just my sudgestion

That is genius.

obelix, Good idea and a good find. But I doubt the blog is for real, considering his shifty ways.
If it was my situation I'd call the local PD. plus if he has an FFL, turn him into ATF.
Find a midnight "red eye" and visit him yourself:what:...You bet ;)

That company does exist and here you go

Hey, could be he has an excuse.

Me, I've had two kinds of flu (yech, and gack/bleh...), a death in the family, and a surgery in the family, all in the past month.

Call him, talk to him, be a "reasonable" person, and try that.

Disccusion Of Bad Ideas

You will note that certain content and certain posts have gone missing from this thread.

Suggesting bad ideas and alternative bad ideas is . . . a bad idea.

Let's keep in on The High Road, fellas.

While the weather here has been bad, it isn't so bad you can't use the phone or make it to the post office. I would try the phone, then a registered letter. Then the police, pretty much in that order.

And I'll say what the Arfin didn't say...

Been seein' way too many folks who seem to want to go from zero to slide lock in 0.3 seconds...

Sometimes, guys, the easy way, the simple way, the -nice- way, is the best way. You get a lot more bears with bait...

Guy coulda been sick, coulda been having family problems, or you stock could be _somewhere_ in his house or workshed, and he hasn't stumbled across it. Let's assume the fellow means well.

Now, type a -nice- note, and see what that does...

I agree with the nice way, write the letter and e-mail. After that give him a 10 day grace, then go to the police and atf:D

It appears to me that LS and several others have already tried the "nice", methods you describe to no avail. I believe it is proper to suggest more leveraged methods at this point - including the one suggested by obelix that he contact this bozo's employer. As long as LS stays civil in his quest I don't see a thing wrong with this tactic.

The atf is not going to care about an accessory to a firearm like a stock.. If you contact the police that may work, but I doubt it, police are not going to care so much about it either, I've had checks stolen for more without anything happening.. It's going to be up to you and the individual to work things out, like everyone says, maby send a letter, then if that fails and you don't mind burning bridges or getting under his skin then call his place of employment. If you try everything else and nothing works then at that point who cares about what he or his boss thinks.. I personally doubt that once his boss asks him that he is going to give you it back, so why not fabricate something good to make the boss say *** has this guy done..

Lloyd;

Your complaint has been forwarded to one of the cast bullet admins.

Things sure changed in 24 hrs. I know I can fly off the handle when I feel a on-line deal is going bad, but it normally works out OK. I do have a big stick in case it does not.

if any part of the transaction took place using the us postal service and he commits fraud... contact the postal investigators... they will investigate this as a federal crime... and best of all they dont have jurisdictional limits like your local PD does
