Three years ago I interduced my gal to the world of firearms, before that she wanted nothing to do with them.
She started looking at whats going on in the world and said she wanted to get a carry permit so she didnt feel as vulnerable as she does. She started with a Keltec PF9 that I tried to talk her out of,then a 38spl, which she loves, then a Kahr 9 which she carries daily(IWB) and I mean 24/7,next was a high point 9 mm carbine which she thinks is a blast to shoot.
Over the summer she started toying with my 1911's which used to scare her,by the end of summer she was shooting the 45's more than the others,Said she liked the heavy push and feeling
the power of it.I asked her Saterday what she wanted for christmas and she says a 1911,I used to think getting her jewlery was expensive.lol.
So I bought her RIA 1911 mil.spec.Hope it takes her a while to figure out about all the up grades. She also informed me that she wants to start shooting Idpa with me.Shes 5'2" a buck 10 and shoots better than the average guy.Gota love it.

Thats awesome... lol

Yesterday, my wife posted on my facebook page "Are those your guns?" based on a picture I posted...

My shooting partner is my wife. We've travelled all over the country shooting in matches. It's much more fun when your spouse enjoys it as much as you do.

It used to be that she would complain about all the time I spent in my shop, loading ammunition. Now the question is, "are you sure we've got enough ammunition? It looks like you need to load us some more."

You guys are lucky. I tried to introduce my wife to shooting years ago. She's not at all anti, just not at all interested. She had a CCW permit at one time, but never carried once. She can tell the difference between a revolver and a semi-auto, but that's about it.

You should get her a real gun like a Glock so she can really enjoy shooting.

haha...well that can work out in your favor...now she doesn't know how much you are spending on them!

ReloaderFred.
Mine has started depriming and repriming to help out!
now if I could just get her to pay for it Id have it made.

I wish I could get my wife to like, or at least not hate guns. I got her to go shooting with me finally for my birthday present the other day. All I could get her to fire was 20 rounds through my mosquito though. :(

My wife and I have been married almost 39 years. She grew up in an anti-gun family. When I began to teach her to shoot, it was a 22 Ruger auto. She ask if she could shoot my L frams.I of course tried to steer her away,Too much power I told her. After instuctions from me,at 10 yards it looked like a shotgun pattern. She then told me to shut up and let me do it my way.I expected worse. She them put 5 357's in one hole dead center andthe 6th just out side it. Is that OK she said.I meekly said, the 6th one should be in the same hole(I knew the gun was empty). Later in our marriage she would keep a soft drink can rolling at 25 yards with a Glock 26. her health is not good now, and she keeps a Buckmark Micro. She goes to the range once a year.Ten rounds are placed in the heart area and 10 in the groin at 10 yards. Byron

Ya cheap bastage! Doesn't she at least deserve a satin nickel plated Tactical model? Pretty girls deserve pretty guns!

I'm jealous, my girl is still hesitant to go shooting with me. I'll get her to come with me someday...

my lady outshoots 90% of the guys i shoot with...as long as its with iron sights...she cant shoot with a scope..

I hear you... my wife is about the same size. She has been shooting my full size Glock 20 with full house DT loads and she loves it. The funny thing is that she hates shooting my AirWeight j-frame with 38 spl +P in it. I bet she would love that 1911... my wallet won't.

I don't know about cleaning, I don't have one. My RIA's are all parkerized, except one that's been blued. But plated guns have been around forever, and how many of them were damaged by cleaning products?

That Tactical I pictured costs less than the AirWeight J-frame you're talking about.

Ludky she has any skin left on her knuckle CZF! I told a buddy of mine who is not super familiar with guns specifically NOT to hold it like that. He did anyways, and first shot, skinned his knuckle. Shot a few more rounds... then he put his knuckle back and skinned it again! He finally learned to keep his thumb clear of the slide, haha.

I can not get ANY of the women in my life to shoot with me :(
