Below the Manson-Nixon line in Virginia...
I ate dinner with some former coworkers this evening. We used to work for Navy Federal Credit Union.

The one person and I have always been friendly, but wary. She's HARD CORE bleeding heart liberal, tax everyone who makes more than $5 at 150% to give to the poor (even though she drives a frigging BMW... ), well, you get the idea.

Well, we get into it a little bit this evening, just jabbing, and she lets one fly that I have NEVER, in all my years, thought that I would hear...

She came up with the fact that George Bush is illegally President...

Not because he wasn't elected...

But because previous Republican presidents illegally "packed" the Supreme Court with conservative jurists...

I knew the Democrats have been having serious sour grapes for the past nearly 3 years, but this is the height of complete and total stupidity from the "never saw a tax I didn't want to double" crowd.

What REALLY pisses me off, though, even more so than the fact of the stupidity of her previous comment, is that she's earning her living from an organization that serves the men and women of the United States Navy and Marine Corps.

I've never asked her views, but something tells me that she's not overtly fond of the military.

The reek of hypocrisy, I guess. But, then again, it can't be hypocrisy, given that she's liberal, and knows better than the rest of us.

Sorry that it wasn't someth.... no, no, this is the high road.... :D

Isn't it amazing how they can see the hypocracy in everyone else but never themselves.

Should have pointed out that when the media did a recount of the contested counties Bush won. I will never understand how people, who for the most part, can't even handle their own lives think they can do better with mine.

I've heard that one from a couple of folks in town - I'm not very far from 2 of the 3 universities in town so I hear a bunch of blather on a regular basis.

It's certainly no stranger a theory than some of the stuff that's posted on this board.

All it takes is a few minutes at democraticunderground.com to make me wonder what alien species has cross-bred with homo sapiens to produce some of these people. Serious personal issues abound. They make even the clintons look rational! :barf:

I didn't realize you were so ingenuous, Mike. NOTHING such a person said would surprise me.

Mike, I am enjoying watching this type that you have mentioned struggle since 2001. It is entertaining to watch these people that find themselves between Iraq and a hard place.

I am not indicating that W is a beacon of freedom shining for all the world to see, but if it works to cause havoc in their lives, so be it.

I knew it would be fun when these same types had to go to asking questions like what did we do to make these 'Mooselimbs" hate us so much. Some of the people I converse with that live in Madison Wi., indicated that the McGovernink types were asking these questions before the dust had settled around the trade center.

When in a discussion with one such certain individual, I was asked if I was suffering from mental problems as I had a grin from ear to ear in listening to them explain their dillema? My reply was Suffer?, hell, I'm rather enjoying myself.

I did not like President Clinton nor President Bush very much,I will stand up for either one against our enemies cause they are or were president. I think that is mostly the dif between them and us. It is a fine fine [small] concept,& it has been used against us we the people, We are one nation, and somewhat divided most of the time. Thanks

I always enjoy pointing out that Clinton never did win a majority in either election whenever some dweeb whines about Bush (multiple investigations of the 2000 election notwithstanding). :D

And please don't pick on Bimmer owners, mine knows nothing of politics - it ain't whut ya drive, it's how ya drive (though I suspect she really belongs in a Volvo:p)

I have no problem with BMW owners, Mike.

At least those whose ownership of said, or like, automobiles, doesn't expose their most visceral hypocrisies.

This worm firmly believes that the only reason why Johnson's war on poverty has been such a failure is because not enough money was plowed into it.

She firmly believes that the states should be forced to pay welfare for everyone who wants it, but shouldn't be allowed to adopt any restrictions on it.

etc. etc. etc.

It's disgusting.

If she likes LBJ's policies so much, tell her to sell what she drives, give to the poor, take up her bus token and follow him.

well gee, now that Karl mentions it - what kind of a gun can you mount on a BMW?

hmm, I may regret that question, I guess we'll see!:D
