I think word is out...

I always thought that my pre-lock 686 was expensive when I bought it. Chose it over the Colt python because the trigger was / is buttery smooth. Through the years I saw the value of the Colt python sky rocket and my 686 remained about the same. I wish I remember how much I paid for it back in the early 80's when they first came out. I know that my beat up python and the new one still cost more than my 686.
pre-Lock 686 will be the new classic Python!

I like that revolvers have seen new interest. It means they won’t disappear as I thought they would a few years ago.
I like it too. We still get some cool new design takes as well. The lcr was a pretty radical idea. I'm impressed with what kimber has done with the ks6. And of course, the chiappa rhino.

I'm still stuck on the magical seventh round in my 686+!

I have never owned a D/A Ruger and don't intend to. What I remember about the 30 year ago Ruger models for was strength but not being close to Smith and Colt otherwise. I have never been a huge fan of D/A revolvers but love single actions. My oldest grandson has a Ruger D/A in 22 LR. I have shot it and it's not bad at all. I have no idea of it's age or model. What I do know is my bargain basement Rossi Plinker has a better trigger in both double and single action, holds 2 more rounds if that is something you want, is as accurate, and dependable as the Ruger.
