44 magnum
As you might infer with a moniker of 44caliber I am very enthusiastic re: 44 magnum handguns and rifles of which I own several varieties including all the brand names both single and double action revolvers. I once owned but sold the Desert Eagle semi-auto 44 magnum which shot beautifully but was a pain in the butt to clean.
Every weekend I shoot the S&W Classic or Classic DX 44 Magnum Model 629 with a 6 shot cylinder, 6.5 inch barrel, wood finger combat grips. I handload using Winchester or PMC cases, Winchester Primers, 240 gr lead or Rainier copper plated bullet, sitting on top of 22.8 gr of Winchester 296 powder. I have been shooting this load consistently for at least 8 years after extensive testing of other combinations.
I would highly recommend the S&W 629 44 magnum 6.5 inch barrel.
