I am doing 3.0-3.3 Titewad in a 9mm CP bullet. My dilemma is, I have 27 CCI 500 primers and 18 Win WSP's that I have used for ladder loads before.

I really don't feel like pulling just one CCI primer from a box to get the 28 primers I need.

Will it nullify my ladder testing to used 7 Win WSP primers for the 3.0 load, and the CCI for the rest?

I don't know about WIN vs CCI but when I compared CCI to S+B primers the CCI seemed to be a little hotter, about 25fps with the same load.
9mm 4.6 BE86 RMR 124 HCFN N=9
CCI 400
AVG 1056.00
SD 14.75
PF 132.00
ES 37
S+B SP
AVG 1034.40
SD 12.54
PF 129.30
ES 35

Since you are going up .1gr at time the difference in primers could possibly have as much effect as .1 of powder.
I would just make one ladder only 6 rounds, 3*7+6=27 or just make them all 6.

hhhhmmmm now I need to find out how much velocity difference .1 of Titegroup makes.:)

Oppps you said Titewad not Titegroup.....getting blind as well as senile in my old age.

Ladder (Audette) testing on a pistol makes no sense to me.

Depends on how crazy your getting. I generally try a few different charge weights, 10 rounds each, just to get an idea of how the load will shoot.

Example:
Acme Bullet Co 9mm 147gr FP's
Winchester small pistol primers
Titegroup loaded at 2.8, 2.9, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 - 10 rounds each

For me 3.1gr seemed to work the best.

When I ladder a load I want everything to be as consistant as possible. Brass by headstamp, primer, OAL & most of all powderdrop.

To me everything about reloading is about doing things consistantly.

I used the WIN WSP in the lightest load, it's doubtful I go with that load. 3.2 or 3.3 is the more likely load with the Titewad.

I would have just loaded 6 rounds with the lightest load. But your way is close enough.

It would not be Scientifically or statistically valid test.:D

Change one thing and then it is just a crap shoot. Are you chronographing or just perceived accuracy?

How did you arrive at a sample size of 45 shots?

Why not just sample 27? Is it all the same brass?

As mentioned a ladder of 9mm using a variance of .3 grains of Titewad is not going to show you anything.

Titewad only gives me a range of 2.9 to 3.4. I picked the four loads to be in middle range, I picked 28 bullets because my wife's magazines hold 7 bullets each and she has four. No chono, will be based on how well it ejects. Nothing scientific.

Just change your sample size. You do not have to load the magazines full.

Better results if you use all the same primer but I doubt it will vary much.

No chrony, just fired off all the rounds. Noticed little difference in feel, all of the rounds ejected and fired fine. I will load up 100 with 3.3gr of titewad and let my wife try that out. Seems to have less kick than what I was loading before. The way she fires her 9mm the titewad will last a while.
