Fooled you! Still like Smiths, but my first Colt has got me pretty excited. Only $150 for a pretty little gun that doesn't shoot (or that I'm too scared to shoot) as the timing seems to be off. But I'm going to see a gunsmith - I'd be willing to put in another $150 or so if it'll make it run right. Otherwise it'll a semi-expensive decoration piece that can sit next to my sword.
When in full lock-up this baby is rock solid - absolutely no wiggle sideways or forward/back. Doesn't look like she's had all that many rounds put through her either, but it's hard to tell. Anyways, pretty good shape considering she was manufactured in 1919 (assuming http://proofhouse.com/colt/ is accurate).

No real point here except my excitement...and some pics

Looks like someone buggered with the frame screw there.

Ya got a Police Positive Special. If it was made later and had a 2" barrel it would be called a Detective Special. It originally came with black hard-rubber stocks, so the ones on it are later replacements. If parts are necessary (often they aren't) they may be hard to find and expensive. Also be sure that any gunsmith you pick is knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to older Colts. Once it's in-time you'll find it's easy to carry and a tack driving shooter.
