I was forced to buy a handgun today

$199 ..... I couldn't have paid faster.
Have my eye on a "custom" built gun at my LGS that's $899. I really don't need another 1911 in 45 ACP. Have 3 already.

I have the same gun in stainless. It’s been flawless. I won’t pretend I’ve shot 10,000 rounds but I’ve probably put close to 1000 through it over the years. Occasionally I kick myself for not getting the parked version, since I’m not really a stainless guy, but I guess it looked good in the case.

I've had a bunch of 1911's over the years. Gave my last 2 away, one to each of my children. I think every " gun guy" should experience a 1911. I no longer want one, I've scratched that itch. But for $199 I'd have bought that too.

Pretty easy to argue that you simply had no choice. At that price, free will is a myth.

I would have been so excited over the p32 I wouldn’t have seen the sig or springer. I have been looking to scratch the p32 itch for about 6 years and no dice.

Heck I've seen better deals than that !!!!
In my dreams. Dog gone lucky. Buy a lottery ticket now

My wife has had a rough couple weeks at work. We were both off today so I took her to her favorite breakfast restaurant. Across the street from the restaurant is a well known gun shop in the Phoenix area called Scottsdale Gun Club. After breakfast we stopped by there because I wanted to see what they had in 9mm 1911s. Im currently selling a Colt 1911 so it was just window shopping and maybe handle some models. The Springfield Operator felt REALLY nice.....

Then I saw the used handgun case. Im not sure what's going on but they had some really stupid good deals in there. A Sig P220 with an Inforce light for 399. Great deal but 400 bucks is a lot for something Im not looking for. A Keltec P32 for 75 bucks. I have no want for that gun, but for 75 bucks I could figure something out.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw a Springfield Armory GI 1911A1 model that looked unused. I handled it and there is very very slight signs of use. Small scratch "idiot mark" on the frame from the slide stop. Minor finish wear on the barrel from the slide. Then I saw the sticker. 199 dollars!!! I tell my wife "Im gonna spend 200 bucks because they have a ridiculous deal right now". She was fine with it. Afterwards she was really surprised that I bought a gun. She thought I was buying a part or accessory for that amount of money.

It was a deal I wasn't looking for, but couldn't walk away from.

I've heard good things about that shop, I'll definitely have to stop in next time I've got some cash burning a hole in my pocket. I'm near there at least occasionally.

Well guys............ I sold it. Was offered a reasonable price for it.

PS. Was back at the shop greatest to use the range. The Sig and the Keltec were gone.

well now you can afford the Sig p220

EDIT: didn't see the Sig was gone. Shame

I actually bought a Sig this weekend. PSA had a Daily Deal on the Sig MPX 9mm subgun. It was more than I really wanted to spend but it was a good deal and fits my want for a smaller (than my MP5) PDW type weapon. So I bought it. The 1911 just brought the price down to what I wanted to spend in the first place.

I want one of those PTR-9mm, can't' decide on the compact or standard design. As a kid in those Call of Duty games, I'd always end up with the MP5K so it's nostalgic for that, but I also had some Airsoft guns both based on the longer MP5.

I have the full size 8.9 inch barrel version of the MP5. Mine is a MKE back when they were sold by Zenith. Century Arms now imported them under their AP5 name. Great gun.

That's a really great deal! I got mine for $800 and some change and I definitely would have bought used with a price like that! It's really fun gun to shoot and it's probably my favorite fun out of my entire pew pew collection so far.

priced to sell for sure. good rule of thumb, if you find something you want that is priced to sell, and you have the money, get it. still waiting for that to happen to me.
