...My grandmother had a bolt-action .22 when I was young that was made for Sears, or maybe Monkey Wards. it used a 10-round detachable box magazine, and I presume it was made by Marlin, because it had a micro-groove looking barrel. The only other distinguishing characteristic I recall was that it had a chrome plated trigger guard. Any idea what model number it might have been?

The other was a bolt action belonging to an ex-BIL. I believe it was either a Marlin or Mossberg, and had a fold-down forend that formed a little monopod for prone shooting.

Can anyone help me out with any model #s?

Thanks.

After WWII Mossberg had a whole bunch of .22's with black plastic folding forearms.
This is just one model of Mossberg with the black folding forend.

I think it was not intended as a mono-pod, so much as to mimic the front grip on WWII weapons guys had been shooting (and shot at) with not too long before.. At least the one my uncle had in the 50's had a very military look to it. Sort of a Reising sub-machinegun looking thing.

The Monkey-Roebuck could have been anything, but if it did in fact have a Micro-Groove barrel, it had to have been made by Marlin.

Here is a cross-reference list that might help you Google a bunch of them and figure it out.
