I need some help from you guys that know old commie bloc ammunition.

I bought an old ('50-'52) Yugoslav M48 that came with a can full of 8mm Mauser (7.92x57) ammo.

It had a bunch of these oddballs in a bag. The normal rounds are rimless, these are rimmed.

A magnet sticks to both the case and the bullet.

The bullet is .7.87mm/ .310".
Overall length 76.55mm/3.0".
Neck 8.40mm/.331".
Rim 14.30mm/.564"

The closest I can figure is 7.62x53r Finnish but it is close to Russian specs as well.

Thanks.

I can't shoot it in an 8mm Mauser. Is it worth anything or should I dispose of it? I have 30 rounds.

I didn't know what yellow tipped meant, thanks all for sharing.

I'd say 30 rounds of it has a value of about $10. Not sure the number of people out there that would like a round or two for an ammo collection, I am one of them so there are likely others.
