Idea on removing dent in barrel

Just a wild idea I had. Shoot steel shot to remove slight dent in barrel?

Depends on the gun - if it is a Rem or Mossberg barrel - replace it; it if is a double set from a Beretta or Browning, have the smith fix it.

Brownells used to sell a hydraulic dent raiser. I raised one by making a mandrel a couple thou under bore size and driving it with a steel rod. Didn't get all out but most. If it is really bad, retire the barrel.
