Although not built for coyote's my daughter has a #1V ruger that was a 243 that someone shot till the barrel was blacktop on the inside. I had it cut back 4 inches to a 22inch barrel and chambered to a 6BR. Less pop than a 243. more accurate tho and very easy to load and shoot. She has moved up to a #1 in 257 roberts now. but the 6 BR is in my nieces hands now. at about 91/2 pounds it is not an offhand gun for a 9 year old. but on the bags it just goes "boom" and a little push.
