I shoot a Beretta 92FS using 10 round single stack magazines.
Which mag pouch would you recommend for this setup for IDPA competition?

Blade-Tech is worth the money and I have a couple but for a brand new shooter I'd recommend one of the injected molded Uncle Mike's pouches. You can find them for around $20. Spend the money you save on extra ammunition and entry fees.

So what exactly is the Blade-Tech doing that my Fobus isn't, especially for a new shooter? I mean, the mags stay in when I'm moving, and come out easily when I pull them, so I'm a little lost here.........

I picked up an Uncle Mike's double-stack double mag holder. I'm not particularly impressed. The retension is maintained by a small piece of kydex at the bottom, about the size of a postage stamp, and by the friction against the part of the cover flap that velcros in. I ended up putting things behind the flap to increase the tension so that my mags couldn't jump out while running. For the extra money, the Blackhawks are better.

Blade Tech has a "Competition Special" that is worth looking at. I have Blade Tech for three of my pistols and they work really well.

Take Care

Bob
