which of these two rifles do you think would be banned first if at all?

SKS or AR-15

One of the ban proposals is any weapon used by any military, or derived from such a weapon.

Nothing is safe.

The Dems are very aware that 1) the AWB cost them 12 years in power, and 2) people and manufacturers "evaded" the law by changing cosmetic features. The next one will be for all the marbles in order to eliminate "assault weapons" in all their various guises. If they do it now, even if they get out of power, this issue will be off the table when the do get back into power.

Very true. It is up to us to try and stop them. I didn't think it was possible to put pressure on lawmakers. But I think we all saw what happened this Monday. Today they try again.:cuss:

Just to buck the current, as well as it having been my first thought...

The SKS- it's foreign manufactured, so it's a bit easier to ban.

Ramone

If you're wondering which one to get, it's still possible to buy an SKS for around $200. I'd get both.

AK's of course, we all know these kinds of laws get passed because of perception and emotions of the irrational public. So......since the "bad guys" are always shown carrying AK's, and the "good guys" are always shown with AR's, it seem that AK's are out to get us and should be immediately banned to prevent our extinction.

I agree. AR15 doesn't quite have the evil conotations that "AK47" does among the anti's. In fact, the term AR15 doesn't even seem to be as widely recognised, yet mumble "AK47" and their eyes immediately open wide !!!!

If AK were an option, I'd pick that.

However, it's not, and I'd imagine that the AR-15 would be the first to be banned of those two choices, but if they do it, they'd call it an M-16

They would be lumped together and banned. The AR-15's would be called M16's in the press as mentioned. The reality is that non-American stuff generally gets banned first. It is a matter of greed and finger pointing to make some people feel better. No guns are safe from an AK to a Nylon M66 22 to a Remington 870 shotgun.

Which would be the last semi-auto military style rifle to be banned? Why of course it would be the good old Ruger Mini-14. Bill Ruger has spoken.

No "if" about it! Obambi wins in November and Pelosi starts the ball rolling in the first 10 days of the new administration. Turn 'em all in by July 1.

Does anyone here think that they would ever pass a gun ban without a grandfather clause (assuming they get their way)?

What about Washington coercing the ATF into declaring the EBRs to be DDs?

I wouldn't put anything past them They seem to have stopped pretending that they defend the will of the people or the constitution lately.

All it takes is some ink and a bunch of votes. All your fears become reality. Vote!

I saw (somewhere) a proposed new ban, there was a grandfather clause.

I see ammo tax as their only reasonable course.

Americans are about fed up, and at this point in history are pressuring their elected officials (think immigration bill, opposition to Wall Street bailout, etc.).

I see RKBA activism at the highest level of my lifetime.

I think it's about to get very interesting.

People think the sky is falling and they're pissed. Things could get real interesting.
