1. SAR-1 with a PK-A

2. Remington model 141 in .35 Remington

3. and 4. What ever I pick up from the guys I shoot... :)

Would prefer shotgun and/or handgun, however, I'll play along:

AR15 w/ light mount / laser (night time option)
AK47 w/ high cap mags (home invasion)
M1 Carbine - large pistol (light weight, old school)
.22 rifle - many cartridge options, (pests and such)

This is my 90% reflective of my actual layout

AK47 w/ red dot, or if the price of it comes out alright, an ACR in 6.8
AR w/ 20" barrel, 1x4 scope
M1A w/ 6x ACOG
Bolt gun in .300WinMag w/ 10x scope

give the option of 4 rifles, I find it best to cover every range I can hit within my skill level. There is some overlap, but each gun serves a purpose.

M60 on the rooftop
Quad 40 in the kitchen window
M230 out the front door
Full auto RPD by the back door

But in reality, assuming 4 people to use:

2 AK-47's (full auto capable)
2 SCAR's (1 .308 and 1 .223)

Four rifles for home defense? I choose four Saigas in .308: One for me, one for my wife, one for our cat Gomez, and a spare for Gomez in case she jambs hers up with fur or kitty litter. ;)

The sound of a M 1 Garand racking is also something the Jap vets of WW 2 know quite well.

The place that i'm living now agrees to let me have long rifles but they want to come to terms how many i plan to have... it sucks till now only having hand guns

who is they

Four Rifles????

Well then it must be:

22 rimfire- 10/22
223 bolt- 600 rem action with hart bbl and synthetic stock
308 bolt- 700 rem with synthetic stock
45-70 1886 Winchester repro.

I have four HD weapons but they are not all rifles...in order of use (and preference save for the pistol):

1. HK USP .45ACP [Ranger T-Series +P]: Dropped when real guns (read: long guns) are within reach if time permits.
2. Saiga 12Ga. Shotgun [2.75in. No. 1 Buck]
3. USGI M1 Carbine [Speer JHP]
4. M17 [Hornady 55gr. TAP]

*I can't fathom needing more than two rifles for HD...so two is all you get. :neener:

Three Ruger Mini-14 series 581s with factory 20 and/or 30 round magazines loaded with 50 grain V-Max. (Me, my wife, my grown daughter.)
Savage 10FCM in .308/7.62x51mm Nato. (Me, if we need to reach out further than 200 meters or if the bad guys take cover.)

ECS

1. glock 22 with a mechtech upper in .40.
2. keltec sub2000 in .40
3. marlin 1894 cowboy in .357 mag
4. can't think of any others I would want to use.

Mossy 500 Mariner....If I can't fix it with this..this isn't HD ,I'ts war.......Gotta go to the safe...M4 all the way,it's the rifle I'm most comfortable with.

1. Marlin .22 bolt
2. Enfield N0.4 Mk.1 .303 British
3. Model 94 30-30
4. US Rifle Caliber .30 M1 ;)

I you NEED four rifles for home defense you better have a moat. Glad noone's telling me what I'm allowed to have yet. I have several to choose from, but even I can only shoot them one at a time.

Any HD rifle should be ideally short and handy to use in tight confines. Shots 'over the wall' or 'out to the treeline' should be be seriously mulled over before attempted.

Forget moat...
1. More like more friends to man the artillery (read Art's statement about mags below)...and...
2. You need HMGs and artillery (no joke)...and...
3. It is probably time to move to a better neighborhood...and...
4. You pissed off the wrong [strike]guy[/strike] nation/militia/General...just write it off as a bad day.

:)

Thank you for the advice, the suggestions to keep it simple to few calibers makes sense... probably just 7.62x39 or 223 then one 308 M1a or bolt action.

either

2 KAC SR-15 + 2 KAC SR-25

or

2 Noveske N4 + 2 Noveske N6

I want same weapon control system so that i can train my family with one OS.
