Nice real nice. I'm going to have another as soon as I can find one.
They're really nice with cast bullets, too -- I use a 200 grain round nose, gas-checked and powder coated over about 22 grains of 5744, for around 1700 fps. I gas check and size first, using a Lee sizer, then powder coat so my bullets mike out to around .310.

Jap Arisaka type 99, an early one, which were nicely finished. Stupid simple, rugged as a rhinoceros, accurate enough and the only one here with a chromed bore. Ditch the monopod and the aircraft sights. Keep the bolt shroud, they can be tweaked so they don't rattle.

Yeah, I know, I'm weird........

Actually, the Lee-Enfield No4 MK2 presided over the demise of the British Empire, which basically fell apart after WWII -- about the time the MK2 was becoming general issue.

Hence the "in various forms" part.

I once had and foolishly sold a neat surplus type rifle.
It was a mockup of a Springfield Armory Sporter.
Remington 1903 action, 4 groove A3 barrel, 1922 .22 stock, Lyman 48 sight.
It was a sincere copy, if you weren't close enough to read the markings, and shot as well as I could hold the peep sight.
