So this is a story I wanted to wait to post about because the first article didn't give enough information. Now that there has been a resolution, there is enough information to talk about it. And it shows the police should be sued, because they really screwed up.

Here is the first article:

http://www.mailtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100309/NEWS/3090315/1001/NEWS03

To sum it up, a man got fired from his job. He purchased some guns; which by-the-way, he was already a gun owner. His purchase of the guns were perfectly legal, as he had nothing in his background to prevent him from making the purchases. His purchases were found out, as well of the fact that he was just fired, so the police used a swat team to storm in on his house, detain him, take his guns for "safekeeping", and put in for mental evaluation.

Now that article didn't give enough information, because it didn't say if he had made any threats. But if no threats were made, then that would mean we had a Minority Report situation going on with "thought police" storming in without a warrant, taking a man's guns, detaining him, and putting him in through mental evaluations. Which would beg the question does a person loose their right to purchase guns legally if they were just fired? And if so, how long does it take after the fireing for those rights to be restored?

Here is the second article:

To sum it up, the man had all his guns returned to him. Which means he had made no threats before purchasing his guns or after. Which means the police violated his constitutional rights in multiple ways. If he has any money problems, he won't for long because I can see lawyers jumping in line to take his case on and go to civil court. They violated his 2nd Amendment rights, his 4th Amendment rights, and his 14th Amendment rights. He is going to be a very rich man if he goes after them.....and he should.
