That law will do no good, and many know it and why. There is a lot wrong with that story is right, but it will only affect the law abiding, who were never the problem in the first place. Just more feel-good legislation to promote themselves instead of cracking down on criminals and keeping them off the streets, which would have much more positive outcome.

The state continues to target guns while the dead bodies continue to pile up and people flee the state, especially Chicago. How anyone with a conscious and the power to stop what's going on there can sit back and do nothing is something I can't wrap my head around.
Can’t enforce or prosecute those who willfully ignore the current laws. Won’t meaningfully Incarcerate the few they convict.
Just keep repeating the same or similar failed policies somehow hoping for different results. The fools can give themselves a pat on the back and a photo op over this.

So what we're really saying here is that when it comes to "gun control," that numerous politicians are insane.
That would certainly explain a lot why we have so many half-baked gun laws on the books.

Things have to get worse or the people won't allow the politicians to legislate ever greater and more restrictive powers for themselves.
In the meantime, they'll pass more "feel good" nonsense like this to show that they are really doing something... .

The other side of that coin is that they are getting exactly the results they want - more crime and more chaos and discord among the law-abiding.

As others have said, this is more about the optics of "doing something" than it is tackling crime in any significant way. Doing things like this look good to their constituents without taking any real action.
As someone who works in the legal system in the Chicago suburbs and lives in rural Illinois, I rolled my eyes when I saw the news knowing it won't really change anything for me aside from taking away a few more freedoms, while at work it won't do jack squat because it's a worthless law.

those Full Auto Glock Switches are very banned and against the law… And Criminals have them, and even used them again police.
conclusion… Criminal don’t care About Laws, it’s kinda a prerequisite
