Hey Guys,

My favorite local gun shop just stocked several pocket sized pistols, all less than $200! For the most part they're all mil-surps.

1.) Carpati (.32acp I think...)

2.) FEG PA-63

3.) CZ 50

4.) Polish P-64

5.) Savage 1907 (I think this one MAY be over $200, but not much and I'm sure they'd deal with me a bit.)

...and another local gun shop has a Colt 1903 for $350...VERY cool but it has a rough bore.

So, of the above, which do you all think would make the best (in terms of reliability, accuracy, overall value) pocket pistol? Right now, I'm leaning toward the P64 first (wanted one for a long time) followed by the Savage 1907 (Because it's ugly and cool). Wouldn't mind having the CZ either! Let me know what you think!

Ben

snubby maybe?

Ever consider an ultra lite .38 snubby.

Smallest, cheapest and most practical firearm I own. My favorite gun.

If the 1903 had a good bore, it'd be the best IMO. I just inherited one from my father, and I think it would make a great CC weapon. Small, light, totally reliable, and one of the nicest firing small caliber pistols ever made.

My CZ50 had a nice crack in the receiver when purchased....That's one isolated case; but examine the purchase carefully...Evidently, I didn't...

One of my favorites too! I've already got a nice old Colt Detective Special. While it's not exactly ultralight or even light by today's alloy standards, it's still a great snubbie!

If I ever decide to get a Concealed Carry permit, it will most likely be a .38 or .357 lightweight snub-nose revolver of some sort, but right now, I'm just looking for a new toy that I can carry around the farm while I'm working and doesn't get in the way.

Take the money and go but a Kel Tec 380 Its light years ahead of those guns. Plus its a real pocket pistol.
I have 3, KT's all have been perfect. Retired my PPK/S and Bersa from pocket carry Even J frame not doing much except sitting.
Kt small, light, 380 power, and relieable.

I have a Carpati,(which is a .380),and a P64(9X18 Makarov caliber).Of the two,I think I'd get the P64,they both are accurate, reliable guns, and both have a horrible DA trigger. The difference is that for about $10 you can fix the P64 trigger, plus the added bonus of a 9X18 Makarov caliber versus 380 in the Carpati. Both are well built, accurate and reliable guns, though.I don't know anything about the CZ50 or the PA63,I've never shot either one...Never even seen the Savage model you mentioned...;)

If you reason for buying it is for fun and you want to shoot it a lot I would buy a pistol chanbered in 9X18mm Makarov. There is plenty of cheap surplus ammo available and it's a powerful round if you decide you want to use it for SD.

There are a lot of good surplus pistols here for a very good price: http://www.makarov.com/guns/gunlist.htm
