Recently i bought a brand new Mossberg 590 with ghost ring sights and the other day i was just cycling through the action with a few shells(2 3/4Rem.000 buckshot) just to see if everything was working ok.I noticed a few times the shell wouldnt come out of the magazine, and they just started falling out of the bottom instead of going into the chamber. This didnt happen every time, but it when it happened it was on the 3rd,5th,and 8th shell.Does anyone have any suggestions, and could it have anything to do with the shells im using.

I hope you were outside in a safe area if you were cycling live ammo.

Yes, the type of ammo can make a difference in some guns. However, my guess is that you weren't cycling the slide hard enough to insure reliable functioning. Most pumps need to be cycled hard in order to work properly.

Also, the gun needs to have all the sticky rust preventative removed from the action, magazine tube, trigger assembly, etc. before it will work reliably. It also likely needs some cycling to smooth out the parts. You don't normally get custom gun smoothness on a mass production gun right out of the box. You've got to wear it smooth by use (with proper lubrication of course).
