I have 400 rounds fired without a stoppage. I really rate this pistol highly,it fits my hand perfectly with Houge grips and the trigger, while not in the 1911 zone, gets better with break-in. Checked out the leather draw and found a Lawrence holster that seems made for it.

Classic examples from a bygone age.......

Glad yours is working out JohnB, there are literally, generations of military and civilian shooters who've loved the grip angle/feel of the Hi Power....I've personally carried one since my 1st tour in Vietnam, where it was a 24/7 companion, and while I'm a die-hard 1911 fan...the BHP is the best duty sized pistol I've ever held.

Good lookin' Hogues on yours...I've got them on all three of my HP's. And that holster will give you some real security out in the field. Looks to be an old Hunter?

In the realm of moderately cheap practice ammunition, I've found American Eagle 124 gr FMJ's about as accurate as anything I've concocted so far at my reloading bench. And mine seems to do a mite better with 124's than 115's.

Dry and dirty, here's mine fresh from the range. Best regards, Rod

I'm not unhappy with the OEM grips on the SA-35, but really like the looks of your Hogues.
With the parked finish, haven't had the urge to change mine.
From the first HiPo ever handled, the dern things simply feel good in the hand. Double stack, and none of the feeling of a 2x4.

Halfmoon....those Hogues are just enough thinner than the factory grips to notice. I've always liked a thin 1911 style grip thickness, tho, truth be told, I shoot Sigs as well as my 1911's...If you like the thinner feel, they might work out for you...and ya gotta admit...they're sure purty. Best regards, Rod

I’m feeling the pull to get one of these. In my inexperienced youth, I traded a Belgium Browning Hi-Power for a Ruger SRH in .44 Mag and regret ever doing so. I’m tossing up the Girsan vs Springfield series and keep leaning towards the Springfield.

That was the choice I made... and mostly because it lacks the magazine disconnect. The other refinements are nice as well... overall, the SA is a very well thought out pistol.

I've also got the Hogues on my SA-35. I actually liked the stock SA grips, but they are just a hair porky... the Hogues slim it down just a hair, but enough to make the difference.

I had my HiPower with me out in NV over Christmas... I could hardly pry it out of my daughter's boyfriend's hands. Considering the other hardware I had with me, that's saying something.

One thing about the Girsan is the ambi safety. Being a lefty, that’s a bonus, but not a requirement

When I was shopping my Springy, there was a shorty Girsan right next to it in the case. I looked at both... I was tempted by the Girsan, and particularly the price tag, but I stayed true to the course. Ambi safeties mean nothing to me... I'm missing half of my left thumb...

The mag disconnect isn't that hard to remove. I've always removed them HiPos. Oddly, one Girsan had the rivet that retains the disconnect, but not the disconnect itself.
Charlie, a buddy has a Girsan; he likes my Springer better.
I'm thinking hard about those Hogues.

I really like my SA-35. It probably has close to 700 or so rounds through it with no bobbles.

In fact I took it, and my S&W Model 67 no-dash, out for a little exercise yesterday. Both ran flawlessly on reduced silhouettes stopping at 5-7-10-15 yards. (S&W using 158 gr swc hand loads and the SA-35 with Blazer 124 gr fmj.)

I even closed the trip playing chase the shot at 5 yds with my 6” Model 14-3. (Shoot one shot on a blank target with one gun, switch guns, and then try to put the next shot into the first hole. Then shoot a new shot, switch guns, and try again.)

The SA-35 is a very nice pistol, glad to see others like theirs, too!

Stay safe.

I'd be shocked if SA doesn't follow suit and offer a compact "Detective" model soon. I already have a nice FN, but that would probably be enough to push me over the edge for another. 😁

The grips are very nice. Are they custom?

The first time this went through, didn't take note of your M67. I've had two of the early ones, and a friend has a third. I'm judging by the stainless adjustable sights; yours, like mine, even lacks the red ramp front sight. Mine wears a standard set of Magna grips, and a Tyler. The gun came LNIB, and the single action was so light I almost couldn't shoot it...I put some weight back in; the single and double action are great.

Ya, it is one of the old no-dash, all-stainless ones. Its been nicely used by the original owner, there aren’t enough o’s in smoooooooth to describe both the DA and SA trigger pulls.

I will say the stainless sights are not very indoor range friendly, they really kind of disappear in less than bright sunlight.

Stay safe.
