I recently purchased a IMI timberwolf parts kit (if you reading this and know what I'm talking about, your either shaking your head or laughing you butt off). From what I have learned (from OSA), the kit is missing 18 pins and springs, however, I have been told that even the most mechanically incompetent can assemble this rifle from springs and pins found at your local hardware store. The gentleman at OSA went further to say that somewhere, someone has compiled a list of these missing parts, including sizes, dimensions, etc. I have located a pdf of the springfield armory parts list and diagram, but it does not contain the dimensional information of the missing parts.

Anyone know where I can get this missing parts list?
Has anyone sucessfully assembled this rifle from the kit (the guy at OSA claims to have seen a ton of these kit rifles assembled)?

I'm looking for ANY information I can to make this a smooth process?

THANKS!

Sorry, I just realized that I have this posted in the wrong froum...anyone know how I can move it? (or delete it and then re-post in the proper section?...thanks again)

Coldchilli,

I don't have any info on the springs & pins...

But I'd like to know where you got the parts kit and whether there are any more for sale.

Thanks.

I got the kit from gunbroker.com, I actually haven't received the kit yet, but I'm expecting it in a couple of days (the pictures that were posted we're very poor quality, but I did my best to account for all the parts).

I know that there is an auction ending soon for a .44mag Timberwolf (fully assembled) that looks like its in really good shape. Its at $630 right now and thier is a day left...man if I only had $800 just lying around.

I've got a timberwolf already, it's a favorite. I definitely do think they're pricey though. $650 is a lot to pay for a pistol caliber carbine.

I was hoping to score the kit inexpensively, and for the price of a few pins and springs, have a second as a spare. If you find out, please post here!

Thanks.

bruss01 - If I come across another one I'll definitly post it here.

got any good close-up pic of the trigger group and/or action that could be posted here?

Thanks for the help, but as of 10-23-07 the rifle is fully assembled and operational. I ended up buying a second timberwolf (fully assembled) as template for my gunsmith, and he fabricated all the missing pins and springs (including an extractor). It's a blast to shoot. I'll be posting the second timberwolf (.357, chrome) for sale shortly.

Hi Runt...I picked up a Timberwolf 357 about a year ago on gunbroker.com.... it's blast to shoot. ANY chance you can share the schematic with me and the parts, I bought it as is, no box, no nothin' .... just a good gun :) ! I have one screw that's a little beat up on the reciever and would like to id it and get a hold of one, your info will help. THANKS!!

Maxcap9,

You can download a free pdf of the manual at this site:

http://www.stevespages.com/page7b.htm
(look under "springfield armory timber wolf")

and talk to John at:

http://www.thedealershowroom.com/page/page/1222170.htm

He's kinda hard to get a hold of but a great guy and really helpful.

For what its worth, Old Sacramento Armoury will claim to have all the parts you need too. However, they will say they're really busy for 3 to 4 months and then tell you its too much trouble for them to look for the small parts...unless you think thats really great customer service, then give them a call.
