I finished my 7.5 inch barrel ar15 pistol a few months ago and I have been thinking about developing a load with less muzzle flash. MY standard load with wc844 powder has a lot of flash (it's expected), so much so I considered using sunglasses in low light shooting.
My first thought is to use a fast for caliber powder (such as IMR4227 since I have it) thinking that it will burn more completly in the short barrel. I hope that the pistol gas system will bleed off enough gas to get it to cycle reliabily as I can see it having problems in a carbine length system due to the low charge weight. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this combo.
