In a bind: Gotta sell a couple revolvers...

I ez snipe everything,
Thus why I prefer gunbroker when I decide to use an auction site for firearms. Generally speaking, though, it is an unusual event that a GB penny auction ends with the item sold at a bargain basement price. Most often, not always, but most often the item will sell for its actual value.

I am sure there are exceptions, but I have not had such an experience yet. Of course, I have only a modest number of transactions on GB and that might have something to do with it. :scrutiny:

I'm still pluggin' away...

I can't get up to speed with the new-fangled, auto bid things so I have a number I can justify and then factor in things like shipping, buyer's premium and such and then just old-school it.

If I win a thing at an auction, great. If I don't, it's not like I have to have it.

Although...

My big problem currently, is scoring a sweet deal on a '59 Evinrude and yet another Moto Guzzi. A fella can only have so many fiscal distractions.

Probably, I shoulda just popped for this when I bought the New Frontier. So it goes...

Well, Todd, as of this writing, there is still 1 day and 1 hour left....

Seems to me like it should go for more than $655.00. But, hey, like I've said elsewhere in this thread, it is only worth what someone else will pay for it on any given day.

It's GOT to go for more than that.

But if it didn't, I won't complain.:D

I expect folks will move on it at the end. In which case, I'm usually odd man out.

I have a real evil habit of waiting until the last minute or two to place a bid. It resets the auction clock for 15 minutes, but I have done this and the other former high bidder did not bid again. I don't know if I sniped it, or if the high bidder simply placed their high bid and walked away. But I have gotten into a few bidding wars before.

In those situations, I haven't saved a dime.

Well, the K38 sold for about what I expected but less than I'd hoped for.

The free market again setting the value for that particular day.

Thank you all for your interest.

Back to auctioning some long guns.

Was quite interested to see how much it went for. Would probably have jumped on it for $ 850 if I had seen it in my lgs but they probably would have listed it higher. Didn't bid on it though as I haven't used gun broker before . Good deal for the buyer. I would have used it regularly though and not made it a safe queen.

Well now...

Woulda shoulda coulda....

Woulda liked to have had it. I was in it up to 750 and then had the confluence of my computer dying and being ambushed by a previous; "sure, OK, why not..." marital commitment of accompanying my wife to a ballet performance - how did that happen.

Shoulda switched out computers for the new one sitting on the shelf for several months.

Coulda got a K-38 if the final numbers worked out but NOOOO, I'm at some horrendous outdoor flounce-fest!

Ill remember you and yours in my prayers and keep a good thought for you. It is aparently a bad time of year to sell rare revolvers. At least that is what my dealer tells me.

I had my 1 of 100 PC14 4 inch full lug for sale for six weeks with only one low ball offer. I dropped the price and couldnt get a bite. Oh well, back in the safe it goes. I wish you luck with your sales!

If I werent on hard times Id buy your K38! Good luck and best wishes! TJ

Therein lies a hard less my wife an I learned a few years ago.

We had a great many things to include firearms, of which we always said: "Well, if we get in a bind, we can always sell..."

Then, when we did need money for issues not related to the economy or the rest of the world in general.... The rest of the world had its economy tank and no one was "buying".

There is such a glut of owned firearms out there that when push comes to shove and the dumping begins - good luck. Even ammo - one need only look at the .22 ammo issues of the past few years.

Another real eye opener was recently buying a Luger for the first time in over 30 years. How was I to know that I was at the cusp of many, many, old Luger collectors dying off and/or collections being broken up as the holders of those collections watch the auction prices drop... thereby leading to even lower prices - more Lugers - lower prices....

Ya know what, just gonna start a new thread with this.

If you have a smart phone, you gotta get the mobile app. That way you can ruin your bank account from nearly anywhere. :) I've bought several guns via my phone.

Nope... Probably have one of the dumbest phones outside of an AARP commercial or a Cricket burner offering.

For me, a "smart phone" would simply be a hole in my pocket to throw money into.:)

Since the OP has resolved their revolver sales, and with their ok, I'll go ahead and close this one.
