i like snakes and don,t kill them unless they are around children or pets, this is one i ran into while hunting turkeys. i left it as i found it, alive.

Likewise. We only have rattlesnakes here, three types, prairie, diamondback, and sidewinder. I have never seen one chase anyone down to bite them. They only defend themselves when YOU intrude on them. Sometimes you can't help intruding and get bit.

I haven't seen a snake of any description around my place in years. There is always a feral cat or three around and cats seem to love snake meat. Same with mice and rats. Some people hate and kill cats. I prefer cats to the varmints around my abode

Cats were designed to live off meat by nature. They have to get it somewhere so about any critter they are able to subdue is fair game. It's fortunate for us that our cats are small.
