Anything goes, what do you think it is, I haven't looked or researched it, curious to see what you all come up with.
Just remember it's not what you would like it to be, just what you think it is.

Hard to name a make and model but I'll but some variation of a 5 shot snubby is pretty high on the list

Really no "opinion" to it, Ruger outsells every manufacture period....

J-Frame Smith would be my guess. How many tens of thousands were produced before Ruger was even born?

Since the Ruger LCP came out it has been the most popular selling concealed carry gun. I would venture that the S&W J-frame is in close second just due to the sheer numbers of them made over the years. The LCP was introduced right as concealed carry was becoming commonplace in most states, and lots of people bought them who weren't necessarily gun people, but wanted something small and affordable.
There were other pocket .380's available before that, but the LCP was the one that really made them commonplace. Does anyone else remember how hard it was to find .380 ammo for about two years after they came out?

I found this, it's not the most popular Carry guns, but there were too many lists that were just 1 persons opinion, most had Glock, 19, Kahr, PM9, Sig 238, XDS- were #1 on several, but then I found this," The ATF, list of top 18 handguns in the US."
I thought some might be interested as I was to see what they came up with.
By the way, Hi Point, and keltec were on several lists.
This is from 2011, so I am sure it would be very different today, but Also Kimbers were on every one I saw "which I couldn't believe", because of the price, along with Sig 229's, and Dirty Harry's 29, along with a couple rugers the MK 2, 22 and the 9mm "p89"
. And Taurus made over114,000 guns.
Top 10 handguns in the U.S according to 2011 ATF records, "so says the Washington Times.

The most prolific makes of handguns manufactured in the U.S., based on production statistics provided to ATF.

Glock 19. I'd go with jframe but with the younger Ccw crowds these days they prefer hicap polymer they can shoot fast.

Rather, the question should be , What is the most popular carry gun caliber ?
I d say, its either the .380 or 9 mm... But i do carry the 9 mm makarov, a good compromise between the two mentioned.

This looks like a fun discussion... fanboys included!

Quite frankly, I wouldn't have a clue.

Top contenders, to me, would seem to be:

Glock 26/19
J-Frame size 5 shot .38 (642/442/LCR/etc)

Though I am referring of course to lawfully carried handguns.

I too am guessing J-frame.
Would be interesting to know the exact numbers if the manufacturers would release them. Of course number made and number carried are different things.
Heck I have 3 J-frames myself but don't carry them all at the same time or even always.
