Ok well i posted this over in the rifle section but then i found this one and i thought i would try again. I'm looking for info on a m1 garand that is marked "m1 beretta cal .30 ARMI ROMA E" on the back of the receiver and has beretta parts all through out. I've researched this some and cannot find anything like it online. Anyone know anything about it?

Thanks for the reply but it is not a BM59, just a regular m1. I know that Beretta and
Breda both made garands after WWII but i am just fascinated by those markings in particular.

(from memory of original material).

After WWII, USA supplied Italy with Winchester machinery and full "technical package" to set up Beretta in Italy to manufacture the M1 Garand.

I own a Beretta Garand, and have seen a Breda too. When the United States had exhausted their M1 Garand spares they also purchased parts from Beretta to rework their units in the post WWII/Korean conflict era.
