Last month NRA blessed me as a Certified Pistol Instructor. My original reason for the training and official hand stamp was basic teaching skill development and improve my informal training to brother or friends at the range. I do not intend to set up a school. However, two things have happened since. Classmates on the instructor class do run a school at their hunting lodge, and have asked me to be part of their instructor team. Then, NRA sent me an Instructor Benefits mail offering instructor liability insurance from Lockton.
Experienced instructors, please comment on the wisdom, options, and coverage considerations for the situation, assuming that the lodge & school will have proper insurance, but maybe I need my own, also. If you are familiar with Lockton or other companies, meaningful comments on them would be helpful, too.
Thank you,
Craig
