So i was down at my favorite gun store today, and they had this weird enfield on the shelf. It was labeled as a Irish Enfield Model 1900, i have never heard of one before, and they only wanted $185 for it. I am thinking of getting it ($185 enfield no brainer) but am wondering if anybody knows anything about this rifle. thanks.

Grab it and post pics of the markings. There are a couple of possibilities if it is actually an Irish rifle. There were some #1 MkI*** rifles batched up from left over parts that went to loyalists in Ireland. Also, after the creation of the Irish Free State, the Irish Army was provided rifles by Britian.

that is what i figured, i almost picked it up today by price alone. I am going back on monday to pick it up before someone else does. It just seems like one of those deals that i can't pass on.

If it's got a five-round mag, or something like that, it could be a Royal Irish Constabulary Carbine.

Regardless of what it actually is, any military Enfield under $200 nowadays in halfway decent shape is a definite no-brainer.

But if it's a genuine Irish anything, $500 and up.
