Seems like all the powders are coming back - even the imports - except Alliant. Did Vista decide to just give up and put their business resources elsewhere? The main website hasn't been updated in months.
And at end of July. But it’s true, not as much Alliant as other brands.Powder Valley had some Alliant powders yesterday.
Oh, I don't think so.Did Vista decide to just give up and put their business resources elsewhere?
Quite a few of my pet loads use Alliant powders. I've had to start again w/ load development using other brands. I would rather use the time in actual shooting, but.... At any rate I can say that W 231 is a very useful handgun powder.
These are exactly reasons why I started the same/comparable powder thread so I could have ready backup when my primary choice of powder was not available (Admin Derek is still working on bringing back "Search" option but here's older archived thread) - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-different-labels.797388/page-5#post-10644897In the 3+ decades that I've reloaded, Alliant powders have always had spotty availability. That's one of the reasons I used mostly Hodgdon powders for many years.
All that's coming in around here is alliant and vv no hodgdon to be seen whatsoeverSeems like all the powders are coming back - even the imports - except Alliant. Did Vista decide to just give up and put their business resources elsewhere? The main website hasn't been updated in months.
I could get along on those two choices just fine. Give me some unique 2400 and they ar comp and I'd be goodAll that's coming in around here is alliant and vv no hodgdon to be seen whatsoever
Which is what I asked: did Vista give up on making canister powder and put their resources elsewhere - such as boxed ammunition for non-distribution contracts, government buyers, foreign sales, and such. Your answer seems to be, “Yes.”Keep in mind Vista Outdoor (Used to be ATK) owns many companies including Federal, CCI/Speer, Blazer in addition to Alliant Powders and likely been busy filling contract/OEM orders.
Kinda weird. I can understand if Vista as Alliant decides to fill ammunition orders first but, that’s not typically affected canister products. Those aren’t typically used for boxed ammo. All that's coming in around here is alliant and vv no hodgdon to be seen whatsoever
Check the lot # and see if it was made before 2020My LGS sent me a message. He has an 8 lb jug of bullseye waiting for me when i pick up my Glock next week.
